Pool and Clubhouse
As fun as water balloons are, we do prohibit them from the pool. They clog the filter. When left on the ground they melt into the decking and concrete and are like gum if they get stepped on. Also, please refrain from placing the chairs in the pool. The chairs damage the pool bottom surface, and the pool water damages the chairs.
The pool is open for the season! Please follow the pool rules posted on the wall. In addition to these rules, the gate must always remain shut. Do not prop it open. It is a state and city law that all public pools must have a self closing gate. If the gate remains propped open we could receive a fine and the pool could be shut down. More importantly, it is very dangerous that when the gate is propped open a small child could wander into or out of the pool area. If you see the gate propped open, please take the initiative and close it.
A new soda/water machine replaced the ancient machines we had. The price of soda and water is now $1.25
A smoker’s post is located by the front breezeway by the parking lot. Please refrain from smoking in the pool area.
The clubhouse is rented every weekend from now through July, and several rentals during each week. If you want to book the clubhouse for an event, contact Advanced Association Management Company at 972-248-2238.
This past winter and spring the photinias were pulled out around the upper tennis court. They were replaced with Nelly R. Stevens Hollies to match what is planted along Custer Road. New shrubs also were planted along the west side of the pavilion area. Asian Jasmine was planted along the east side of the pool behind the pool chairs, and in an area by the upper tennis court.
Lower Tennis Court
The lower court had a major face lift this past spring. A new gate was installed and the court can now only be accessed with your pool card. The court was resurfaced in US Open blue and green . The fence was straightened and new poles and braces were added. New markings for the basketball hoop were added, now including a 3 point line!
Yard of the Month
We have so many beautiful yards in our neighborhood! There are a lot of re-sodded grass yards and fences in our neighborhood this spring. Check out the Yard of the Month section for the winners of the Yard of the Month program sponsored by Calloway’s Nursery. Calloway’s awards the YOM winner with a $25 gift card, and OWG HOA also rewards the homeowner with another $25 gift card. Thank you so much to all the YOM winners for helping make OWG a beautiful neighborhood to live in.
