Spring 2014 - Newsletter
The Oakwood Glen annual meeting will be Tuesday, March 25 at the clubhouse. Check in will start at 6:30 pm and the meeting will begin at 7:00 pm. In the mail you will soon receive an announcement for the meeting, a proxy, and a ballot form.
Announcement - Required by law to let all homeowners in the association know of the annual meeting.
Proxy - In order to conduct the annual meeting, a quorum of 51% of the homeowners must be met. This quorum can be met by attending the meeting in person as well as proxies that have been returned prior to the meeting. Even if you plan on attending the meeting, please fill out your proxy and send it back to the management company either by postal mail, email, or fax. The mailing information will be on the announcement letter. If we do not meet the quorum, another meeting must be held which generates a large unnecessary expense to the HOA. The proxy is very important to return.
Ballot - There are three seats on the board for election this year. There are already two names on the ballot; there is space for a write in candidate. Nominations will also be taken from the floor. Fill out the ballot and return with your proxy.
We will be eliminating the use of the block captains for OWG email communication. Your email will be coming to you through an account set up just for Oakwood Glen. This will allow a faster turnaround with communications for our HOA as it will not have to go through the block captain as the middle man. If for some reason you do not want to be receiving emails with neighborhood information, please let your block captain know and they will take your name off the master distribution list. With this new way of communication you will not be receiving anything different than what you are now from your block captain, it will be coming from an OWG account instead of your block captain.
This is one of the most complaints I get from homeowners. Please pick up after your dog!! Even leaving dog waste from your own dog in your own yard is a city ordinance violation.
Yard of the Month
We have some very nice yards in our neighborhood. We are pleased to reward the good work the homeowners do to maintain their yards. We also would like to thank Calloway's for sponsoring this program.

In addition to needing a new YOM volunteer, we are looking for volunteers to be on the social committee. Contact a board member or the management company if you are interested.
